The Hon. J. A. Young, Minister of Health, returned from the: South this morning. ; . . •

The Minister of Public Works (the Hon. K. S. Williams) will leave for the North Auckland-district next Tuesday afternoon. He will visit the Otamatea, ; Hobson, Whangarei, and Bay of Islands districts, and probably will return to Wellington about 12th February. Sir Wjliam Hall-Jones, M.L.C., was a. passenger by the Wahine from Lyttelton to-day.

Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Greenwood, Teviotdale, Christchurch. arrived by the Wahine this morning.

Mr, W. J. Girling, M.P. for Wairau, arrived from Auckland this morning, and will return to his electorate tonight. -

The Rev. J. K. Archer, Mayor of Christchurch, who recently underwent an operation, has made a successful recovery, and has resumed the duties of his office.
