TO-MORROW'S PROSPECTS

Fields of very fair dimensions will be seen out to-morrow at Trentham, the middle day of the Wellington Meeting. The holidaymakers Bhould be provided with some great racing.

Mint Leaf .is sure, to be in good demand for the opening event, for ho was finishing on very well yesterday at the end of a mile." The extra distance to-morrow should suit him. Weding March and Ardfinnan may be the best of the others.

On first day form Assurance looks the likely one • for favouritism in the Trial Plate. Crossbow is a likely sort from Eiccarton with winning form ( and Mountain Star is a very fair galloper.

The January Handicap has an open appearance. King Smock, who scored in an attractive style at Ellerslie, seems well placed,- Alloway is a good and improved galloper, and Centrepiece 8' iuld be all the better.for his first day's race.

Paleta may do well in the Nursery Handicap,- for all his 9.5, for he is good class. Ti Tree and Otairi are a likely, pair of the others.

A small but good field will contest the Eacing Club Handicap. Footfall probably will be favourite, and the honour should be justified.' If . Alloway starts in this he is entitled to consideration, while Mask, more patiently handled, would; be a possibility. The Douro Cup will have backers well and truly puzzled. Stormy and Queen's Choice will have plenty of friends, but they have a good deal of weight. Horomea should do well at 8.11, and Outfit 8.6, and Vesperus 8.3, appeal. Great Day, Kilmezzp, and Inoe all go well, and Jemidar at 7.0, with a capable lightweight would take some beating, Kilmezzo, who was unlucky yesterday, Vesperus, -ivho looks useful .and Jemidar may be not. far away at the end.

Royal Damon, if he jumps out well, should play a prominent part in the Metropolitan Handicap. Paperckase is a.solid customer, and Licinius, who was unlucky yesterday, should make amends.

Sagittarius probably will be a good favourite in the concluding event, or at least he should be. Some Lad may be the best of the others.
