Freshened up, Mah Jong does not appear out of his place in the Amalgamation Handicap at Waipukurau. Starboard Light, who has two engagements, is a useful galloper, while Father O'Flynn does not appear to have a very big task in the Flying Handicap. Gordon Swift should play a prominent part in • the Maiden Race.
A very mixed lot of horses are engaged at the Westland Meeting. Taboo is a solid customer, and appears a cut above those engaged in the Westland Cup.
