CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS.

Postal. Saturday, 25th December (Christmas Day) and Monday, 27th December (Boxing Day) are to be observed as close holidays. Mails will not be dispatched or received on Christmas Day, which will be regarded purely as a Sund"y-.. .... ■ . .. .

- Friday, 2lth December, the usual deliveries will he made by postmen. In addition letters (including registered) usually delivered by postmen may be obtained upon application at the Postmen's Branch, Chief Post Office (entrance upstairs from Featherston street) from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. *

Tlie posting boxes in the city and suburbs will not be cleared at midnight on Christmas Eve, but the usual midnight clearance will be made on Sunday, 2fith December. Correspondence addressed to the Chief Post Office may be obtained upon application until 8 p.m. Monday, 27th December (Boxing Day), mails for dispatch by trains for the Wairarapa, Ilawkes Bay, Manawatu, Eangitikei, Wanganui, and Taranaki districts will close at 6 a.m.; for Auckland and district, South Island, and all mails dispatched by steamers at 8 a.m. Telegraph. Attendance on Christmas Day: Auckland, Cliristchurch, Dunedin, and Wellington, 10 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.; 6 p.m to 5.50 p.m. For other places apply at counter, ring 28-100, or see Postal Guide.
