(By Telegraph.) (Special _c"Th» Evening Poit,") CHRISTCHURCH,.. This Day. During tho loading operations at Pitt Island (Chathams), the crew of the Tees surf boat had an ■ exciting time. An exceptionally heavy swell carried the boat on to a reef, whore it sank before two of. tho occupants had time to take off their heavy scaboota. Mr. Hunt dived down and hauled the two men into shallow wator. The. surf boat; was a total loss.
