A HEARTY WELCOME

FOR CANADIAN SOCCER TEAM.

The secretary of the New Zealand Football Association advises that a. cablegram has been sent to the Prime Minister (Mr. Coates) in London, advising that the Canadian Football Association has agreed to Bend a Canadian team to tour New Zealand next winter. The New Zealand Council requested the Prime Minister to convey its greetings to the Canadian Prime Minister, and to assure him that the team would-receive an enthusiastic welcome, and that the tour would help to cement Imperial relationship. A reply hag been received from Mr. Coatea in which he states that he has conveyed the contents of the cablegram to the Canadian Prime Minister.

A letter is now being sent from the New Zealand Council to Sir. Coates to meet him when he arrives in Canada. No doubt the officials of the Canadian Football Association will interview him on his way across the Continent.
