* FERDINAND BEGG, OTAGO ' PIONEER.
(United Press Association.—Copyright.); (Received 7th December, 8 a.m.) 'I: LONDON, 6th December. " The .death is. announced of Mr. Ferdinand 'Faithfull Begg, at the age ot, 78, one of the early settlers of Otago. Born in Edinburgh in 1847, the son of the Rev. James Begg, D^D., he emigrated to New Zealand in 1863, and returned to Scotland ten years later. He entered the stockbroking business, retiring in 1913. He was M.P. for th« Rollos Division of Glasgow from 1895----1900, and chairman of the London1 Chamber of Commerce, 1912-15. H« . married, in 1873, Jessie, daughter off F. A. Cargill, of Duncdin. \
