A YOUTH'S THEFT
DESIRE FOR MOTOR-CYCLE,
. (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.")
CHRISTCHUECH, This Day.
Desire for the possession of a motorcycle led a nineteen-year-old apprentice, Milton George Elliott, to steal £13 3s from the Tramways Social Club. The accused is an apprentice at the tram sheds, but has not been working for some time.
In the Magistrate's Court to-day the chief detective said that the tramways employees had a Social Club at the sheds, and lately the accused had been opening the door of the room by some trick of his own, and taking money. He paid £13 as a deposit on a motor-cycle.
The accused was remanded till Friday for the Probation Officer's repoit. He asked for bail, and Mr. Mosloy, S.M., said: "It would be better for you, my lad, to be in gaol, where the Probation Officer can see you." Bail was granted, however, in the sum of £100.
