For his second offence of drunkenness he was fined 10s. For committing a breach of his prohibition order, George Broughton, a labourer, aged 52, was fined £2, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. He was fined 10s for drunkenness. Por a second offence of drunkenness, Harry Knox, a labourer, aged 42, and Oscar Brown, a seaman, aged 30, were each fined 10s. A similar penalty was imposed on three first offenders who had been released on bail. Frederick Petersen and John Hawke, both 23 years of age, admitted fighting j with each other on Saturday afternoon, letersen, who had been in custody since j be was arrested, was fined £1, in default seven days' imprisonment, and Hawke, who had been released on bail, was fined £2, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. Eighting with an , unknown man jnWakefield street on Saturday cost John Douglas Stark, a labourer, aged 30, £2, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. He was fined 10s for drunkenness. ■ Charged with being a rogue and vagabond, Thendrig Marselyn Gjerstein, a labourer, aged 52, took the unusual course of choosing not to be dealt with summarily. He was accordingly remanded to appear in the Supreme Court.
