EMPRESS THEATRE.
The reputation of the Empress Theatre for showing consistently good pictures is well maintained by the programme which commenced to-day. "The Palm Beach Girl" has Bebe Daniels and Lawrence Gray at the head of a fine cast, and is a sparking, rollicking comedy, laid in the society atmosphere of Palm Beach and other Florida beauty spots, and . depending for its thrills upon speedboat racing. _ Miss Daniels is a gawky country girl trying to learn the manners and mannerisms of the smart social set. She falls in love with a handsome millionaire, has an adventure with bootleggers, and runs wild in a sixty-mile-an-hour speed boat. Everybody who saw Rin-Tin-Tin in the Warner picture "The Clash of the Wolves" to-day, must now be convinced that this dog wonder of the screen is truly one of the finest actors in motion pictures. The story, written and adapted to the screen by Charles A. Logue, is crammed with dramatic situations which give Rinty every opportunity to display his talents, and yet afford the supporting cast of humans ample moments of prominence.
