The alteration would cost upwards of £600. The council resolved to comply with the request, on the ground that the bylaw was being substantially observed and there was no danger to health. The City Council advised that buses would bo allowed to run to theatres, ■wharves, or the Hospital, but that an excess fare of 2d must be, charged. ■ Certain proposed alterations to the City and Suburban Highways Board Act were before the council.
