The New Zealand Sleat Producers' Board has received the following cablegram from its London office, dated 10th September, 1926, advising Smithfleld delivered prices at that date (prices for tho two previous weeks are also shown in parentheses) :—
New Zealand Wethers and Maidens.—Canterbury quality, selected brands, 561b and under, 6V_ I per lb (6»/_ I—6_d) ; 571b to 641b, 6%d .<* _d—6.4c!); Gslb to 721b, 5%d <s_d—s*_d). Other brands: 561b and uniier, 6d (6d—6d) ; 571b to 641b, s_d (s%d—s_d) ; 651b to 721b, S'/sd (_-d—s_d). New Zealand ewes: ti-lb aud under, 4_d (4_d—4_d). Frozen Pork.—Bolb to 1201b, lid (lid —lid); 1201b to 1801b, 3_d (9%d—lod). Frozen Veal.—Not quoted. Lamb.—Market firm with fair demand. Mutton : Fair demand for wethers; demand remains dull for ewes.
. Tho Bank of New Zealand, produco department, is advised by its London office that "tho market for wether mutton is quiet and unchanged. Ewes aro in poor demand. Moderate business has been dono in lamb, and the market is firm. Wethers, light, s_d to 6y 2 d per lb; heavy, 5d to 5%d; owes, 3_d to 4y 2 d; lambs, 2's, B_d to 9_d; B's, 8d to S%d; 4's, 7%d to 8d; seconds, 8d to 8%d." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., havo received tho following cablegram from their London house, under dato 10th September:—"Lamb, mutton quotations aro unchanged. Market quiet. Last week's quotations:—Lamb, B%d per lb (average). Mutton, 6%d per lb for wether and maiden ewe, light; 5%d per lb, for wethers and maiden ewe, heavy; 4',id Per lb, ewe, light; 4d per lb, ewe, heavy."
