The Hon. H. L. Michel, M.L.C., and Mrs. Michel wero arrivals from the South this morning. Mr. J. W. G. Brodio, manager for W. D. and H. O. Wills, N.Z., Ltd., returned from Sydney by the Ulimavoa. Dr. L. A. Riddoll has been appointed house surgeon at the Wellington Hospital.

Rear-Adniiral A. Beale, Captain 1\ A. Somervillc, and Commander Peters were passengers by the Wahine from Lyttelton this morning.

TJie Right Rev. Bishop Molyneux, Assistant Bishop of Melanesia, is expected in Wellington on Saturday, and during his stay will be the guest of Mrs. E. E. Hayes, Karori. Lieutonant-Commander F. Lumb, intelligence officer of the New Zealand Naval Division, has returned from a visit to the Islands by the H.M.S. Dioraede, and is now in Wellington. Major R. Miles, of the Royal New Zealand Artillery, who has been undergoing a two years' course of training at the Staff College, Camberley, England, returned by the Corinthic, which arrived at Auckland on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Mrs. Miles. Dr. S. L. Guerin, senior house surgeon at Wellington Hospital, has tendered his resignation, which was accepted by the board yesterdaj'. Ho has accepted an appointment as clinical registrar under Dunedin Hospital Board. ' He had been at Wellington Hospital for two years. Sir John Hosking, who became ill on his way to Auckland from Wellington some weeks ago and entered a private hospital, is now convalescent (states the "New Zealand Herald"). Accompanied by Lady Hosking, ho left for Wellington yesterday" by the Port Dunedin.

The Eev. John Harold Datson, hitherto r listant-curate of St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Maaterton, w s ordained priest at St. Paul's Pro-Cathed-ral, 'Wellington, on Tuesday. Bishop Sprott conducted the ordination service. Mr. Datson was ordained deacon in July, 1925, and will continue as curate of St. Matthew's.

Lieut.-Colonol (Temp. Colonel) H. J. M'Lean, C.8.E., N.Z. Medical Corps, has relinquished the appointment of Assistant Director of Medical Services, Central Command, and has been posted to the Eetired List. He will be succeeded as A.D.M.S. by Lieut.Colonel J. L; Fraser, N.Z. Medical Corps.

A Press Association message from Invercargill announces the death of the Bey. K. T. Matthews, 8.A., formerly vicar of Suva and administrator of the diocese of Polynesia, from which he retired two years ago on pension. He had been stationed at Bulls, Christchurch", and Queenstown, and was at one time science master of Christ's College. He is survived by four daughters and two sons.

' The death occurred at Greymouth yesterday, following an operation, of Mr. Patrick Donnellan, county councillor, and well-known sawmiller and gold mine proprietor, states a Press Association message. He was also a loading patron of the turf on the West Coast. Deceased, who was aged 51, and not married, mot with an accident last week, falling on a viaduct on the tramlino of Donnpllan Bros', sawmill at Nelson Creek, and severely injured his back.

Mr. C. E. Grevillo, who died after a short illness, was tho second son of the late Mr. R. P. Greville, Commissioner of Crown Lands, telegraph's "The Post's" Auckland correspondent. He, was educated at Wellington College and sorved with the Now Zealand Artillery in the war, leaving with tho Fourteenth .Reinforcements at the age of 19 years. Mr. Greville, who was 30 years of age, was nine years on the Btaff of the Bank of New Zealand, and later three years with tho Loan and Mercantile Agency, Ltd. He is survived by a wife and two children, who reside at Papatoetoo, where he had a dairy farm.
