A MEDIOCRE DISPLAY.
Better football had been expected than was shown by_ Mafist and Thistle on No. 2 ground, Basin Reserve. 'Probably the heavy wind had a good deal to do with it, but there was not a great deal of the team football shown by both clubs in recent games. Marist, with the wind behind them, had all the better of the play during the first spell, but their shooting was poor, and Galbraith, in goal for Thistle, had no great amount of work to do. Rudolph sent through from a centre from Barton. Marist 1, Thistle 0. In the second spell play was rather more even, if anything, in Thistle's favour after the first ten minutes. _ M'Elligott added another point for Marist, and Logan, after nice play by Daniels, on the right wing, netted Thistle's only goal. Marist 2, Thistle 1. Mr. C. Kelly refereed.
