The biggest attraction was at the Basin Reserve, where a large crowd assembled- to see Hospital play V.M.C.A. At half-time Hospital were two goals to the good, and although V.M.C.A. reduced that lead by one, they could not equalise. On No. 2 ground at the Basin, Marist defeated Thistle by the odd goal in three. At Kelburn, Institute easily beat WaterHOSPITAL JUST WIN. There were plenty of thrills for spectators who watched the match between Hospital and V.M.C.A. on No. 1 ground at the Basin Reserve. Throughout the piece the pace set was fast, and despite the jstrong wind which swept the ground, botli teams were responsible for many attractive movements. Hospital, with the wind behind them, held the upper hand in. the ■first spell, but they were unable to obtain a greater lead than two goals, the spell ending with the score: Hospital 3, V.M.C.A. 1. Anderson, Ferguson, and M'Kee did the scoring for Hospital, and Stark scored for V.M.C.A. At the opening of the second spell it was apparent that V.M.C.A. were determined to reduce Hospital's lead, and before the spell had been in progress long Worth scored a good ;oal. V.M.C.A. kept the pressure up, and for a time shots came from all diveotions. Porteous, the Hospital goalI keeper, was in great form, however, and he proved a very formidable stumblingblock for the V.M.C.A. forwards. The Hospital hacks and halves were also responsible for much good work, and Y.M.C.A. had to leave the field a beaten side, the final score being: Hospital 3, V.M.C.A. 2.
