COUNTY CRICKET

INTERFERED WITH BY RAIN.

(United Press' Association.—Copyright.) (Reuters Telegram.) LONDON, 20th August. County cricket fixtures everywhere were interfered with by rain. The following is the result of matches played:—

Hampshire, playing against Yorkshire at Harrowgate, in the first innings scored 121, Boy Kilner taking four wickets for 24 runs. Yorkshire declared in the first innings when nine wickets had fallen for 2(52 runs (Steplienson 60, Eoy Kilner 78). The match was drawn.

Playing at Lord's'against Middlesex, Kent in. the first innings made 314 (Seymour 82, Knott 61, Collins 52 not out), Powell taking seven wickets for 81 runs. In the second innings Kent declared when three wickets had fallen for 228 (Hardinge 81 not out, Bryan 81 not out). Middlesex in the first innings made 19" (Killick 52), Freeman taking four wickets for 75 runs and Marriott four for 45. In the second innings Middlesex lost three wickets for 78 runs, and the match was drawn.

Lancashire, playing against Sussex at Brighton, in the first innings made 248 (Watson 84 not out), Lancashire in the second innings lost three wickets for 125 (Makepeace 75 not out). Sussex in the first innings made 239, Tyldesley taking five wickets for 51 runs. The match was drawn.

Playing for Derbyshire against Northants at Chesterfield, Townsend took Jive wickets for 14 runs, and for Northants Jupp took five for 98. Derbyshire won.

Playing for Surrey against Warwickshire at Birmingham, Jardine made 167 and Ducat 130 not out. For Warwickshire Kilner scored 146 and Bates 104. Tne game was drawn.

Playing for Glamorgan against Gloucestershire at Swansea, Mercer took eight wickets for 39 runs and Byan five for 55. For Gloucestershire Parker in the first innings took five for 48 and in the second seven for 49. Gloucestershire won.

Playing for Notts against Worcestershire at Nottingham, Carr mado 13S and Eichmond took five wickets for 81 runs. The match was drawn.
