CYCLE ROAD RACE
The Port Nicholson Amateur Cycle Club conducted its fifth road race of tho season«in the Hutt Valley on Saturday afternoon. The distance of the ovent was originally set down at 50 miles, but a decision was made to reduce it to 40 miles. Although conditions on the outward journey from Pctone were unfavourable owing to a heavy head wind, the race was kocnly contested, and some lino performances were registered. The result Was:— M. Gane (20min), 2hr 7min 7see .. 1 G. Charnwcn (20min), 2hr .7min Bsoe 2 11. Scarfo (3min), lhr 55miu 59sec 3
fastest time: lhr 53min 17sec was registered by G. S. Bright and P. N. Eobinson from scratch.
