FILM MEN GATHER
LUNCHEON TO MISS NOVAK. A complimentary luncheon to Miss Eva Novak, the well-known film, star, w'io is passing through on her way to Australia, was given at the Grand Hotel to-day by Australian Films, Ltd. The gatheiing was thoroughly representative of Wellington film 'jxchanges, and was presided over by Mr. A. G. M' Gowan, general manager ' f Australasian Films. Miss Novak was accompanied by her husband (Mr. Reed),' Mr. Gooi-go Fisher, Mrs. Kathorine Dawn, and Mr. Stephen Murphy. The loyal toast was honoured, and Miss Novak's health proposed by Mr. Martin Luckie, who said he was present not in his official capacity^ but as one of the general public who obtained much pleasure from pictures, and he was sorry Miss Novak's stay was to bo so short. ' Mr. E. J. Eighton, managh-g director of N.Z. Picture Supplies, replied to the toast, and wished Miss Novak and her company every success in Australia. He had shown Miss Novak some of the scenery around Wellington, and he hoped she would make a picture in New Zealand. The toast was drunk with enthusiasm, and Miss Novak replied very charmingly. Mrs. Dawn, Mr. Fisher, Mr. Eoed, and Mr. Murphy also spok:, all being received with acclamation. ' ,
