FOOTBALL SQUABBLE

(By Telegraph.)

(Special to "The Evening Post.")

AUCKLAND, 28th July. Confidence in the executive of the Auckland Football Association was voted by the clubs last night after the chairman, Mr. Andrew Monzies, had addressed delegates regarding the position that had arisen following the refusal of: the referees to act on Saturday. Later the Referees' Association requested the executive to receive a deputation, on which it was informed that no discussion could take place until an explanation of their conduct had been given. After a reply had been received that exception had been taken to Mr. Menzies's remarks, the deputation was admitted, and was informed that the remarks had the unanimous support of the committee and that until the referees carried out their duties there could be no discussion. The spokesman said that tlie referees would not agree to this proposal. They desired to have matters thrashed out before future appointments were made. It was apparent that negotiations were impossible, and the deputation withdrew. Another disagreement has arisen, the Junior Management Committee having passed a resolution that owing to lack of confidence shown by. the Auckland Football Association in the Junior Management Committee's decisions the committee does not feel disposed to carry on the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh grade games until a satisfactory arrangement has been arrived at.
