CHAMBEBLAIN "NO" EXPLAINED.

In the House of Lords, Lord Parmoor •aid that Sir Austen Chamberlain's •tateinent to the effect that German disarmament was not proceeding satisfactorily was not calculated to ensure the smooth entranco of Germany into tho League of Nations. He asked for 'an "assurance that there would be no departure -from the attitude of the Geneva ' Conference regarding Germany's admission. ■ Viscount' Cecil replied that matters ' outstanding' in German disarmament caused tho Government no anxiety. The reference was to Germany's fulfilment of international obligations.
