Twenty-five minutes sufficed to finish the *match between the Au- alians and Northamptonshire to-day. The weather was bright and the wicket good, Australia winning by an, innings and 147 runs.
Murdin and Fitzroy resumed for Northants, and got- -n several big hits, including a six to leg by the former
off Grimmett and a boundary off the same bowler and one off Mailey. Fitzroy scored two fours off Mailey before he was hopelessly beaten. The following is the detailed score:— AUSTRALIA.
