AUSTRALIAN CASUALTIES

RYDER, HENDRY, AND COLLINS:

INDISPOSED,

(Sydney Sun Cable.) (Received 3rd July, 11 a.m.)

LONDON, 2nd July.

Mr. Sidney Smith, manager of the Australian team, states that Byder is proceeding to London to consult a specialist in regard to his ankle, which is still swollen and painful. Hendry is definitely unfit at Leeds, and Collins is in bed with neuritis, which, however, is not serious.

The increase in Australian casualties is becoming somewhat alarming, and bodes ill for the third Test. Bardsley is tender-handed and winces whenever he handles a ball with his left hand. Ponsford is still weak and suffers from dizziness, the after effects of tonsilitis. Nobody kliows when Heudry will be fit. Byder has now strained an ankle, and Oldfield is abed. Another disconcerting feature is that Gregory's bowling lacks life and fire. He still slings them down, but is unable to find the spot.
