LONDON, Ist July.
Mr. Basil Ward, of Wellington, New . Zealand, took second place in. the competition for the Eome Scholarship of Architecture, the winner of which was Mr. Amyas Connell, late of Eltham, Taranaki. Mr. Ward receives the Jarvis Prize, which enables him to study two years at Eome. Mr. Ward had been a student of the Boyal Institute '' of Architects. The winning of first and gecoiu" places by New Zealanders.is a nniqv.' distinction for the Dominion.
