COINS AS WATCH CHAIN
UNUSUAL PROSECUTION.

AUCKLAND, This Day.
Ah Wing pleaded guilty this morning to using gold coin other than for currency purposes. T.he charge was laid under a section of the Finance Act with which very few persons are'conversant. The accused had ten half-sov-ereigns in the form of a watch chain, and was wearing it when the police impounded it on the eve of his departure on a viait to China. He received tho summons on his return. He was fined £1 and costs. Mr. Poynton, S.M., made an order for the return of the chain to the defendant.
