Cold and changeable weather hns been experienced, with snowers, in many parts of the country. The barometer has risen further everywhere, and strong but decreasing southerly winds have prevailed.

L, light. BR, breeze. KB, fresh breeze. MG, moderate gale. G, whole or heavy gale. W, gale of exceptional severity. FORECAST. The following forecast was issued at 9 a.m. to-day for the subsequent 24 hours:— Winds—South-easterly wiDds, moderate to strong, prevailing. Barometer—Kising. Sea—Considerable southward of Kast Cape; rough elsewhere. Tides—High on all eastern coast; poor in Cook Strait; moderate elsewhere.
