The Fire Brigade was called on Wednesday afternoon to 14, Jackson street, Island Bay, a wood and iron two-storied eightroomed private dwelling, owned and occupied by Arthur Waters, where an outbreak of fire had occurred in the dining-room. Slight damage was done to a portion' of the lining board at the rear of a° gas fireplace before the flames were suppressed. It is supposed that the fire was caused by the overheating of a fluo-pipe leading from the fireplace. The,building was insured in the State Office for £750, and the contents in tho Boyal Insurance Office for £150. .
