THEFT CASES
. -♦■ ' (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Ist July. Frank Garnsey (29) pleaded guilty in the Police Court to-day to two charges of failing to account for £77 10s to W. R. Hellaby, Ltd., and was committed to the Supreme Court. James Fleming (2±), at present serving four months' imprisonment for theft at Wellington, was charged with breaking and entering and theft of money and goods valued at £35 5s Bd, the property of H. J. Walter, storekeeper, of Blockhouse Bay. 0. M. Francis, a fingerprint expert, stated that he had compared fingerprints found with others taken in gaol, and was perfectly satisfied that they were the same. The accused was sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labour for theft, cumulative with his present sentence. He was committed for trial on the move serious charges. It was stated that the accused deserted from a Canddian vessel in Now Zealand during the last three or four months.
