N.Z. MILITARY FORCES
PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS.
The following promotions and transfers of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces are gazetted:—B. H. Pringle, of the 7th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Wellington-East Coast), to be 2nd lieutenant; Captain H. J. Hobbs, of the Central Depot, to be major; Second Lieutenant R. ( Morrison, transferred from the Central Depot to the Northern Depot, with seniority as from 15th July, 1924; Captain J. I&, M'Alister, M.C., from the Reserve or* Officers, ■ appointed captain in the Ist Battalion, Wellington Regiment, and J. A. Meikle appointed captain in the same battalion and regiment; Second Lieutenant D. T. Evans, of the Wellington-West Coast Regiment, posted to the retired list. The appointments of the following second lieutenants on probation to the Taranaki Regiment are confirmed: —J. Earl, Ist C Battalion; H. R. Howard, 2nd C Battalion; W. W. Thomas, 2nd C Battalion; H. C. Johnson, 2nd C Battalion; R. C. Wilson, Ist; C Battalion.
Colonel D. Munro, commander, 2nd N.Z. Mounted Rifles Brigade, and Sergeant W. "W. Lock, Nelson, Marlborough, and "West Coast Regiment, have been awarded the Colonial Auxiliary Forces long-service medal.
