If rabbits aro a pest they are at. least a source- of much- profit to the trappers, who probably have- something: nf a withering contempt for tho- man in the city who, in the- stuffy atmosphere of. some office, earns, less: in. a week than they obtain in: a day. out iuthe fresh air and sunshine. Trappers in various districts in New South. Wales aro reaping a rich liaiwest in consequence of the high prices ruling for rabbit skins. In the Braidwood district, on the road: to tlio unco famous Araluen-. gold field-, one man: received recently £29 for his fortnight's catch. Earnings of £.10 a week aro eommoui Trappers are so well, off tha": they are leaving to browse undisturbed: rabbits ■in paddocks, the. trs,pping' of which, would! yield only £5. a week.
