EXPLOSION IN A MINE
(Received 7th May, 2.30 p.m.) VANCOUVER, 6th May. At Pittsville (Pennsylvania), four miners were killed as the result of a gas explosion in a colliery on Thursday. Several men are entombed and a number have been removed to hospital badly injured.
RIFFS RESUMING ATTACK
PEACE NEGOTIATIONS BREAK DOWN.
(Received 7th May, 2 p.m.) UJDA (Morocco), 6tiii May. The peace negotiations have broken down and hostilities are being resumed." The Kiffs are reported to be preparing to attack the Spanish zone. The Riff delegates returned from Abd-el-Krim without the French prisoners they wore expected to bring back.
