RECONSTRUCTION ANNOUNCEMENT

PROBABLY NEXT WEEK

MEETING OF PARLIAMENT.

The Prime Minister (the Eight Hon. f. G. Coates) returned to Wellington from the South to-day. In reply to a question, Mr. Coates frtated that probably no announcement regarding the completion of the reconstruction of the Cabinet would /be Itnade until next week. ■ • "There is somebhing more important than that on hand," added Mr. Coates in making a reference to the general ptrike in Britain. Asked when Parliament would meet, Mr. Coates replied that it would probably assemble a little earlier than usual, but he declined to say whether or not it would be 10th June, which is the date until which the / General Assembly has been formally prorogued. Parliament usually assembles on the last Thursday in June. This year the last Thursday of that month will be 24th June. It is expected that members will meet either on the 10th or 17th (Df next month. If, as is anticipated, the Imperial Conference meets about the firsi; week In October, Mr. Coates will require to leave for London towards the end of August.
