The fortnightly-sitting of• the Lower Hutt Magistrate's Court was held yesterday before Mr. J. G> L. Hewitt, S.M. . ■• ' '•■.■'.'.■' For driving a motor-bui aY night without lights, William', P." M'.'Ginnity was fined 10s and 7s costs. John Towers, Jack Alexander, W. Capper, and Edward /Sullivan were each fined £1 with 7s costs .for being upon licensed premises without lawful exause after hours. The Inspector of Awards proceeded against G. P. Costigan for failing to notify the union secretary the starting and finishing. hours of certain employees, and also for failing to notify the union secretary.of' the employment of non-union men. He was fined £1 on. each charge. T. Slinn was also charged with failing to notify the starting and finishing hours of certain employees, and" .was fined £1. Judgment for plaintiff, by default, was given in the undefended civil case, G. P. Costigan v. G. Hog'gard, £7 7s 7d and £1 10a 6d costs. , ■
