SHOW ASSOCIATION
A meeting of the General Committee of the Wellington Show Association was held last evening, Mr. G. Mitchell presiding. - ■■ ' . , The chairman said that a deputation waited on the Mayor, and requested that the council should give the associI ation the choice of either Bite suggested in the city for the show building. The Mayor met them very sympathetically, and favoured their wish,5 so long as the rights of .the people were not interfered with. The association was now awaiting, the Mayor's "written_ reply. A report of the Space Committee was readj showing 'that application had already Feen made for 8000 square feet of space. . . '....,,....• :.. The chairman - thought, it was quito satisfactory that i such numerous applications for'space had. been received. Information was given as to the progress of canvassing. It was anticipated that as a result of the activities of the association and its representatives, the membership of the association would be materially increased. . Mr. ,W. Booth (Carterton) suggested that there should be more advertising in the, Wairarapa. In his judgment much benefit would accrue to the exhibition if this were done. Other. business of a .routine nature was transacted.' : •' . . !
