Despite the inclement weather, about 150 people attended the householders' meetiag^at Lyall-Bay. Mr. J. H. Bur-Kdyne-Thomaa ;;wa» 'Elected to the chair. The annual report showed that satisfactory progress • had been made, and that the school continued to maintain its high. standard of excellence in scholastic work. Hie inspectors' reports were most favourable. The balance-sheet showed the funds to be in a satisfactory state. ?'hfe h'adrnaster <Wt. Ay; C. .Blake) pro sented hi| eighteenth $nnual rjeport, showing that'the -number "on the roll was 821, and the average- attendance 777, or 94.6 per cent.; 177 attendance 'certificates had been awarded, equalling 92 per cent, of passes. All forms of sport had been well catered for; and the school held an excellent record in*this respect. The various^ 'organisations had showed good pro-gressy.-ancL .-since* its in 1916, -he Dr. Barnardo's League had raised £420. The following motion was carried: "That the" householders "of Lyall Bay gratefully record'their appreciation of the work of the headmaster, infant mistress, and staff. by which the good record of the past has been maintained, and another creditable year added:to the history of the school." Burgoyne-Thomas'62, Mr. A. B. Haswell was elected chairman, Mr. B. C. Cull deputy-chairman, Mr. F. J. jfivans secretary and treasurer, and Messrs. Stone and Mehaffey delegates to th.> School Committees' Association. . Mr. V. J.
