The. New, Zealand University tournament opened yesterday In fine weather. The boxing tournament was held in His Majesty's Theatre, the preliminaries in the morning and the finals in the evening. The results of the finals were as lollow:— . Bantamweight (1925 champion, D. Martin, Canterbury) .—W. M'Alevey (Otago), gst 41b, beat R. Richard (Auckland), Bst 21b. Featherweight (1925 champion, V. G. Richard).—D. N. Ferguson (Otago), 9st, teat R. R. Chester (Canterbury), Bst 131b. Lightweight (1925 champion, ii. Cotter, Otago).—F. Davis (Canterbury), 9at 101b, beat LV C. Cotter. (Otago), Ost 121b. Welterweight (1925 champion, F. W. Petre, Canterbury).—F. W. Petre (Canterbury), Wst 81b, beat F. Desmond (Victoria), lOst 61b. ' Middleweight (1925 champion, H. E. Ty!B, Otago).—G. J. Sceats (Victoria), lOst 121b, beat A. R. Smith (Canterbury), list 31b. Heavyweight.—J. T. Burrows (Canterbury), list 131b, beat T. S. Norris (Otago), 12st 81b.
