A CHANGE EAELY NEXT WEEK,
The barometric pressure has increased since Thursday, stated the Director of Meteorological Services (Mr. D. C. Bates) this niorliing, and is now high ill the north. Changeable weather has been experienced, and rain has fallen on- tho^ Wost Ccaat, but generally cool and fair conditions have prevailed, and moderate to strong south-westerly winds liavo ruled. The barometer is (somewhat unsteady in the South, but little movement is anticipated in the North. Moderate to strong southerly to westerly winds are likely to prevail northward of Now Plymouth and Napier, and Westerlies, strong to gale, elsewhere, owing to the passage of a small disturbance to the south of Now Zealand. .' ' Changeable a:ul showery conditions may he expected on the West Coar;t southwards' of Cape Egmont ami fair to cloudy conditions elsewhere, with another cold night generally.
