CITY MILK SUPPLY
(To tht Editor.)
Sir, —The statement of Mr. W. H. Bennett and "Pure .Milk V effusion are quite beside the question at issues raised by Mr. W. H. Field. He does not attack the scientific methods adopted by the City Council, except in respect of the destruction of the inherent virtues of the milk, so neceisary to the sustenance of infant life. But he fearlessly states that the system results in giving ihe farmer a very low price and costs the consumer so high a price as to necessitate a much reduced consumption of this vitally necessary article of food. No inspection so kindly offered by Mr. Bennett could alter the views of Mr. Field or any other sensible person in this respect. Those who descend to abuse generally, have a very poor case to sustain.—l' ain> etc., ONLOOKEE. Ist April.
