PRESS DEFEAT MERCANTILE LEAGUE
The Press representatives succeeded in defeating a team representing the Mercantile League at Kelburn Park yesterday. There was an exciting finish, the Press finally winning by five runs. The Press scored 71 (Hendry 17, Howat 10), and 175 (Greig 30, Mummery 27, Flett 25). Mercantile League, scored 110 (de Muth 33, Paterson 18, Faulkiner 13, Cunningham 10, Evans 10) and 75 (Paterson 19, de. Muth 13, King 14, Cunningham 12). Jeffs bowled well for the Press, capturing six for 52 and three for 23. Flett took two for 25 and three for 18. For Mercantile League, King secured four wickets for 25, Faulkiner four for 32 and five for 24, and Evans two for 10;
