" The ajsessbra fvom the Wellington Motor- and Horse Drivers' Union were:— ■MeesM. J. M'Crea, J. Prescott, and H. ■Wallis, with Mr. A. Parlane, secretary of the Drivers' Union, as agent. Messrs. R. Prlngle, M. J. Casey, and W. Grenfell rcjrretented the Corporation..•The assessors ;asked for-an increase in th* rate of the wages of 5s a week, and a reduction of hours for horse drivers from H% to 48 hours a week, and for motordriyers from 47 hours to 44 hours. ••"A settlement iva« reached on the lines "if the old agreement with tlie exception a£ wages, and an extra three days' leave for 'general drivers. These points were referred to the Arbitration Court.
