LODGE MEETINGS
'"iThe fortnightly meeting of the Rose of the Valley Lodge, Manchester : Unity, T.0.0J1., Lower Hutt, was held on Thurs4W» Bro. Tasker presiding. One member was declared on the sick fund, and two lady members were proposed for membership. The delegates to the district conferenoe gave a report of the meeting, and received the thanks of the lodge for their tsrvicet. An invitation to the jubilee ball of the Johnsonville Lodge was received and accepted. ; A special summoned meeting of Excelsior Lodge Of Druids was held on 15th 3l»rch, A'.D. Bro. Nash presiding over ;si.;,'gbod attendance. A vote of condolence was passed to the relatives of the life Bro. Skerritt. The bard'g report Was received, and sick pay amounting to \£7l it 8d and accounts were paeeed for Wy)n«nt. D.P. Bro. Clark, No. 2 District, attended officially. The old age pension scheme came: up for consideration, and was fully explained by the secretary. There was a good deal of discussion on this question. The majority of members •poke in favour of it, and it was finally ♦ieeided that the perpetual scheme as put forward by the committee, at 9d per quar"tfcr; ta come into force after five years, n« adopted, and that the payments cominence next August quarter.
