BRITISH SAILORS' SOCIETY
Another delightful conceit was held at the British Sailors' Society, 94, Jervois quay, on Tuesday, the rooms being filled to capacity. Each-item wag received with applause, the performers having in every case to respond with encores. The party was arranged by Mr. W. H. Armstrong, who also acted as chairman. Supper was provided by the wife of the secretary of the society, and was served by the young ladies during the interval. A hearty vote of thanks to the performers was proposed by tho chairman, and was carried with acclamation and cheers, the evening concluding with the singing of Auld Lang Syne and the National Anthem. Items were contributed by Mesdames Chalk and Kosenthal, Misses Field and Chalk, Messrs. Vul. Jones, A. Chalk, Neal, and Unwin. The accompanists were Mrs. Metcalf and Miss Bartley.
