PICNIC
' The employers and staff of Jas.. J. Niven and Co., Ltd., held their annual picnic at Maidstone Park on Saturday, the 20th instant. They had a full and very enjoyable day, and the children were well catered for. The prize-winners were as follows:—100yds apprentices' handicap,, H. Black 1, J. Cooper 2; 100yds open handicap, D. Batcliffe, 1, D. A. Muir 2; 75yds ladies' handicap, E. Davey 1, Z.-Rankine 2; 220yds championship, D. Katcliffe 1, B. Lennox 2; 75yds married-men's championship, W. Adams 1, J. Cooper 2; 100yds open championship, S.: Norris 1, D. Ratcliffe 2; 50yds Siamese race, Miss Dayey and Keith Croll 1; SOyds-married ladies' race, Mrs. Adamsl, Mrs. Hutson 2; 25yds sack race, Miss. Hutson 1, Miss Tees 2, (men) Frank Baker 1, J. Cooper 2; Mr. A. E Russell's trophy greatest aggregate events, D. Katcliffe; M'Gregor Memorial Cup, D. Eatcliffe.
