EVICTION BY TEAR GAS
(Australian-New Zealand Cable Assn.) (Received 23rd March, 3.15 p.m.) PARIS, 22nd March. The eviction by tear gas of two women from a tenement has aroused widespread indignation. The Prefect of Police denies that he authorised the employment of gas. The Fire Brigade regrets that women were thus treated. The acute housing crisis has caused a thousand people under notice to complain to the police of their fears that they will be ga3sed out.
