BUS IN COLLISION
MISHAP ON HUTT ROAD,
A collision occurred on the Hutt road shortly after midday to-day between one of CottrellV motor-buses and a motor-lorry driven by Normand Alcock, of Johnsonville. The bus was coming into town from the Hutt Valley, and was following another car, which, when opposite the Vacuum Oil Company' stores, suddenly slowed down. The driver of the bus, Reginald Wells, swerved to the right, and struck Alcock's lorry, which was on the way from Wellington. Tho radiators of both ears were crus!>cd, and the engine of the lorry badly damaged. Injury was done to the shaft a--', steering gear of the bus, and two of the glass windows were shattered. The bus was carrying about ten passengers at the time of the accident, hv. L no one was injured. Workmen are engaged on the Hutt road laying the new water main, and in consequence ths c.ear way is not as wide as usual.
