AMERICAN RESERVATIONS
TO WORLD COURT ADHERENCE.
(Australian-New Zealand Cable Assn.) (Received 23rd March, 10 a.m.) "WASHINGTON, 22nd March. The World Court resolution, as adopted by the Senate on 27th January, contained five reservations:— (1) Adherence to the Court shall not be taken to involve any legal relations of the United States to the League of Nations. (2) The United States shall appoint representatives to the League Assembly or Council on a basis of equality with other members for the election of Judges of the Court, or the filling of vacancies. (3) The United States shall pay a ' fair share of expenses of the Court. (4) The United States may at any time -withdraw adherence to the Protocol and that statute for the Court adjoined to the Protocol shall not, be amended without the consent of the United States. (5) The Court shall not render any advisory opinion except publicity, after due notice to all thy States adhering to the Court and to all interested states, and after public hearing or opportunity for hearing given to any State concerned, nor shall it, without the consent of the United States, entertain any request for advisory opinion touching any dispute or question wherein the United States has, or claims, an interest.
