HOMING PIGEONS
The Wellington Homing Pi~jon Society held its sixth young bird race on Saturday from Makotuku. The distance was 11.2. miles, ard 125 birds competed from twenty lofts. Following are the results: —W. Thomas's red chq. cock, No. 108, 816 yards per minute, 1; G. Wilson's black chq. cock, No. 35, 815 yards per minute, 2; J. Bruce's red chq. cock, No. 4, 808 yards per minute, 3; G. Team's blue chq. hen, No. 136, 801 yards per minute, 4. This was a severe fly for the birds, as shown by the low velocity. The next race; is from Waipawa. ' ■
