CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE.
(By Teleßraph.—Preaa Association.) CHJUSTCHUBCH, This Day. The third Chrlatchurch wool sale was continued this morning. Bidding was again' erratic, but at times competition was animated, especially for good classes of wool. Bradford furnished the principal buyers. WHEAT AND OATS PRODUCTION. The following estimated average, yields per acre of wheat and oats for the season 1825-26 have'been compiled from reports furnished by stock Inspectors of the Department of Agriculture throughout the Dominion, and are now published for general information:— 1 , '" ■ Wheat. Oate. District. Bushels Bushels per acre, per acre. North Island: 26.45 JB.S4 Nelson 19.05 24.(1 Marlborough I ; 29.86 34 43 Canterbury , 28.85 33.39 Otago ;...!.'.., :. 32.69 42.59 Southland .: 33.55 43.10 Average (estimated) for the Dominion, aeason 18J5-26 ll.Ofl 33.13 Average (actual) for the Dominion, season 1914-25 ... 32.6* 38.71 In accordance with the above estimates, the total yield of wheat for the Dominion should be approximately 4,600,000 bushels, as against an actual yield or 0,447,758 bushels for the season 1924-25.
