♦ : CONFERENCE IN DUNEDIN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. The annual meeting of. the Gas Engineers' Institute was held this moming, Mr. Hungerford (Wellington) prosiding. A civic welcome was accorded the delegates. In reply, the chairman criticised the action of some municipalities in refusing to allow engineers to attend. The first portion of the meeting had been held at Timaru, and the Dunedin business was largely the reading of papers. The delegates will visit Waipori tomorrow.
