NEARING THE END
CASSIOPEE'S IN PORT. The French war sloop Cassiopee, now at Wellington, will sail about midday to-morrow for Auckland, where she will make' a short stay prior to proceeding to Noumea, 'her headquarters in the Pacific. Yesterday Captain Decouz returned viiii- «&»\e to the ship by the varfcos Coamiar agents in Wellington. Captain Deonirx also paid a visit to the HowF. J. Bolleston (Minister of Defence)'at noon, and In tha evening 'the captain and officers were entertained at the ;Ereneh Club. .• • ' '- . Though the weather was dull, Captain; -Decoux and' four officers of the ■loop; who motored from Wellington yesterday to Otaki, on the excursion arranged by Mr. W. H. Field, MJJi expressed themselves- as having thoroughly . enjoyed the trip, and of baying been much interested in all they s»-b. At Otaki the party was met by the .Mayor (Mr. J. P. Brandon) and other Otaki resident*, and was suitably welcomed and entertained.
