DE LUXE THEATRE.

"Little 'Annie Rooney" will be shown finally to-day at the De Luxe Theatre. Mary Pickford takes up again the style of role that made her famous in the past—that of a tomboy. As the leader of a gang in the crowded streets of NewYork, she helps to carry on a vendetta against a rival gang. She .proves her grit by offering herself for a blood transfusion operation to save the life of her sweetheart, who was injured during a fight between the two factions. Eventually, however, peace is made between the two contending parties, and all ends well. The Orchestra De Luxe, under the leadership of Mr. L. D. Austin, plays a fine I selection of incidental music. "THE IRON HORSE." There is much enthusiasm among Americans in their opinion of the merits of the wonderful screen story of "The Iron Horse," which is to start its season of six days and nights at the popular De Luxe Theatre at the matinee to-morrow. The inspiration of the film is exemplified in the words of the famous artist Howard Chandler Christie, writtea personally to William Fox: "Lasts night we saw The Iron Horse,' and this is to congratulate you and thank yon for a most entertaining and exciting evening. Not only is it a splendid artistic production, full of interest and action and humouT —it is the kind of thing every youngster and grown-up should see —to stimulate their minds in the making of a great nation. A picture of this kind, stimulates healthy imaginations and forms real character. One comes away from the theatre feeling that the evening has been gloriously spent. A perfect musical synchronisation has been scored for this mammoth William Pox screen story, and will be rendered by the. popular De Luxe Orchestra under the direction of Mr. R. D. Austin, who specially compiled the musical interpretation. The plans are now open at The Bristol and Aitken's Book Arcade.
